APPDATA location? Help with hosed system after My Documents move in XP

My Documents folder is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\{Me}\My
Documents" (determined by right clicking on My Documents and then
Properties). When I type %appdata% at the command line, it refers to
"C:\Documents". Is the APPDATA location correct? There is an \Application
Data folder beneath My Documents.

My system seems to have gotten confused after I used the built-in utilities
to relocate My Documents and restore it to its default location. Everything
was apparently not deleted from the old location first time around, or not
moved, and there are multiple copies of the same folder: FooFolder,
FooFolder(1), FooFolder(2). I have restored to an earlier System Restore
Point but that didn't clear things up.
