App using up 5x memory on start

When I run this app, it takes up around 7mb ram until i minimize it and
then restore it, at which point it's taking up far less ram. Currently
it's just a blank form. What do you do to keep this from happening?

You don't. You're just looking at task manager, which shows the working
set rather than the true amount of memory being taken up. .NET
applications use a large amount of memory to start with, but then it
only goes up in a reasonable way. Just don't worry about it.
