AOL Instant Messenger and Spyware???

My daughter installed AOL Instant Messenger on my computer and suddenly I'm
getting browser windows opening for sites offering programs to stop spyware.
One tells me that my computer has been infected by the Blackworm virus. I
scanned my system with McAfee and it found nothing. I downloaded Windows
Defender and Ad-Aware; nietherr found any spyware. AIM is the only program
that's been downloaded to my computer. Does anyone know if it carried spyware
with it? I still haven't figured out what the spyware is so I don't have a
clue how to get rid of it. Any help would be appreciated.

There are vulnerabilities in AIM that can permit malware to exploit it and
access your computer. After you clean this up, you need to configure the AIM
settings to maximize security. SEE:
