Anybody besides me thinks that Microsoft could afford to beef up this site a
little bit? I often get errors, slow response, etc. etc. It's a great
service and obviously not a profit center but c'mon guys.

if you're talking about the newsgroups specifically, you might try using a
newsreader rather than the website. i connect to the ngs using Outlook
Express only, and i never have any problems - and i'm on a 42 kbps dial-up
connection, for what that's worth.

Under « Tools | Accounts », you create a new News account with the following
server: news.microsoft.com.

Don't give your real email address!!! Otherwise, you'll get spammed for
good. Put anything like (e-mail address removed) (they won't mind) or better, if
you want to use a real email address, use a yahoo, google or hotmail free
email address but with some anti-spam coating like:

[email protected]

(e-mail address removed)
