There is a pro version and a freeware version. It can produce self-contained
slideshows, screensavers, HTML slideshows (using Javascript) and VCD
slideshows. Very interesting transitions and you can particularize each
slide with a caption, transition effect, etc
I like VCDEasy (haven't used it a lot). Easy to use and you can put a
*huge* number of JPGs on a CD. The last freeware version is v 1.1.5.2 -
just found it here:

Are you sure? I've never used it, but trying with my freeware version it
seems to start going through the process but I stopped short of actually
burning.
There is a small note that says that "evaluation version add xatshow text to
images" in the dialogue box but nothing indicates that it won't do the task.
You're right. I poked around with it some more and discovered that I am on
day 10 of a 30 day evaluation version at which time it reverts to the
freeware edition. Sorry for the duff advice. . .
Thanks for all replies. I am new to CD burning and while playing I found
that the dvd player displays in a slideshow jpegs burnt as data, there is
even a menu and thumbnails which is all I need at the moment. Of the VCD
applications noted I have downloaded VCDEasy and will play with it when I
have time. Thanks again.
