Hello, I dont know whether this is under your jurisdiction, but if anyone
knows where I should go in my computer to format my Iomega zip disk I'd be
deeply grateful! I've spent hours searching google and no answer came
forth.

I have WinXP and just installed IomegaWare. My zip disks are the plain
ones, no pluggings or USB, etc. Thanks ever so much! Adela

P.S. I asked at the Iomega forum but no answer....

Did you try right clicking on them and picking format?
How about Disk Manager?

How long did you wait? Five minutes? Ten?

Thank you Big Al, I'll go and try it. :o) Adela

As to the 2 persons who answered with UNSOLICITED sarcasm...I seriously
doubt that they could ever be of any help to anyone...

It worked! Thanks so very much Big Al! Adela

I was about to pull out the drive and dusting it off.... :-)
Wonder if it would sell on Ebay with about 20 100mb floppies? Hmmmmm....

Glad to hear Adela.

You might get five bucks for it all.

Why anyone would want to use that anymore is beyond me.

Thanks very much marx and allen for the genuine information on the
obsolescense of the zip disks. I'm aware of the risks of this method, but
there are reasons why I don't go and get the latest "fashion" in computer
"toys". I personally know many individuals and small businesses that have
been using them for a long time without experiencing the click of death.
Granted - it can happen - and I recognize it.

I really appreciate your warnings though, and will upgrade (when I find it
possible) to more secure methods, as you suggested. :o) Adela

Flash USB "drives" are the way to go now. Zip disks are waaaay too
limiting, slow, bulky, and cumbersome, and limited in their size. Copy
the stuff OFF of them to a flash drive, and you won't need the zip disks (or
drive) anymore.
