Anybody Use Audacity

I've just downloaded Audacity and a very useful programme it is too. I had it on my system about six months ago and then took it off. I can't decide if it has changed. What I'm referring to is a drop down list which, on the present setup, is not active but which I think was active when I used it previously. The area is arrowed in the thumbnail.

If anyone out there has Audacity running can they tell me if their dropdown list is active or not. I think it had something to do with input settings.

I have the beta installed, but to be honest haven't had the time really to play with it

I installed it about a year ago but never got around to actually testing it out..

i have it installed, the drop down list contains all the inputs you can record from

I also have the latest version installed, that drop down list should be active.

Thanks for the info Me_2001and Flops. I remember it now that I see the list.

I've downloaded the programme three times and it's the same every time.
Strange thing is that on my version the box is empty and the small triange to operate the dropdown is greyed out so I can not get anything in it. I have the input through the microphone socket on the PC and everything works perfectly well. I just feel that I don't have the full control that I should have.
Weird things computers !

Try opening a sound file and see if the menu appears.

Nope. Still nothing. I'll just leave it as everything works as I need and I can manage without it.
