anybody tried the Office Max inkjet refill service?

I went into Office Max to get my ream of paper for a Lexmark 88 cartridge
and found you now have to buy something to get the "free" paper. At least
they still have the offer: Office Depot and Staples only allow you $3
against the overpriced cartridges they sell.

While there I noticed their refill service for HP, Lexmark and Dell inkjet
cartridges, which they have sold "since summer." Anybody tried it and
have an opinion? They say the cart has to be recently used or it will
fatally clog, and I've got to worry about fading of the inks they use, but
at least (I'd hope!) they've tested them.

Stapes allows $3 to "any cartridge" and I have redeemed non OEM
cartridges.

I have yet to find any aftermarket ink that has fade resistance
anywhere near Canon Chromalife 100. I would be most interested in
testing any ink that comes even close.

With that kind of a caveat why are you wasting the time even writing
about it?

With so many good and bad experiences about refilling related here, it
might be nice to have them do the initial drilling and filling before I
try it. Also, Office Max will probably stand behind the quality of the
work (which is done in the store while you wait).

Ps The supplier is found at cartucho.com

I used the Office Max refill service a few times. The inks gave me
colors that looked as good as my original HP cartridge. The thing I
like the most is saving the $$$.

I am not sure if the ink is as lightfast as the HP, but who cares, you
just print another picture. My experience is that the photo paper has
an important play to keep lightfastness.

Does anyone know if Staples or Depot are providing the same service?

but who cares, you

if you want to spend less money and accept lower quality that is your
judgment. at least admit it. people can purchase all sort of products
at lower prices and accept what ever results they get while others will
spend more money and get great results.
