have you tried mapping to the site's IP address, something like:

\\207.1.1.45 ?

Well, I use an FTP site BUT I don't need it all the time
so I have made a shortcut / favorite item to it so when I
click on this I get a windows that opens up and I can use it
like any Windows Explorer window (cut, copy, paste, etc) but
what is done in it is directly done to the ftp site.

What you do is make a "favorite" but then you go into the
favorite's properties and make an adjustment:

ftp://loginname:[email protected]/whatever/

EX: ftp://kalia:[email protected]/users/kalia/

That way you "pass along" your name and pass and end up
at "your folder" when you double click the shortcut.

Very handy, very easy.

Now there IS a way to set up a folder. If you go to My
Network Places and you select Add Network Place; you can
select, during the wizard, "Choose another Network
Connection" and then select an FTP site and everything.

Hope it helps you. :)
