any way to hide / password protect individual files?

Is there a way for one user to create a file that is
completely undetectable for other users? I know there is
a hide function, but the files could simply be unhidden
by any user. If I can't make it invisible to them, can I
possibly password protect it? I would think such a
feature would be available for security/privacy reasons.

Are you using the NTFS file system on your hard drive? If so, you can just
right click on a file/folder and through the security tab, you can set all
kinds of permissions.
