Any Suggestions on a Javascript script to emulate Screentips?

Here's my problem... have an image of the US map and need a screen tip
to be shown on mouseovers on the hotspots. If you use the FP built in
screen tips, it works fine in IE. But FireFox and Opera will not show
them correctly. I need a script (as simple as possible) that will work
on all three browsers.

I've looked at DynamicDrive and have not found anything that seems to
work well on image hotspots.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

You probably mean to add the title attribute to the <area> tag, no?

If I recall correctly, that is not shown in Firefox.... 8(

I just tested this and the "title" tag does work in
Fire Fox 1.5 & IE-6 & 7

<area href="#1" shape="rect" coords="63, 62, 227, 153"
title="This is the where it hit">

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tip. That worked, but I still have a problem. In IE I can
use &#13 to separate entries in the screentip. Does not work in FireFox.
Anyone have a tag or know what to use for it to break the lines when
using the "title" tag in FireFox?

Thanks
David

Yea, FF gives you a pipe | when you do that.
Even if you use the hard return method FF will
give you a double pipe || instead of a line break.

Here are some links to look at that might help.

No easy solution that I know of.
