Any RAID experts out there...

I have a A7N8x motherboard, not the deluxe so I bought a MegaRaid SATA
controller with 2 Seagate 80 Meg SATA hard drives and everything seems to be
setup OK. I expected a big perfomance change in gaming with it set to RAID 0
and 16Kb striping but it doesn't seemed to be any change. It shows up in my
computer as a 160 gig hard drive like it's suppose to. Is there something
else I need to know for configuring and is there a way to test it. There
didn't seem to be any change using 3Dmark03. Thanks for any assistance.

Just what improvement would you expect in a GRAPHICS benchmark when you use
faster hard drives?

The only difference you would notice in games is that they will load faster.

So, what can be used to test it?

www.sisoftware.net iirc. sandra 2004.
then use the storage benchmark test.

this will give you kb/s score.

i`m running 2x 36gb 10,000rpm 8mb cache WD raptor drives, and scoring around
the low 60,000kb/s region on the silicon image 3112a onbaord a7n8x board.

used as a main system drive - so winXP, games, all programs are run from it.
