Will someone at Microsoft kindly provide info about plans to fix the
irritating vertical scrolling problem introduced in IE6 by security patch
Q824145 (a page scrolls by more than one page per click)? It has been
several months since the buggy patch was released, and even after so many
posted complaints, there is deafening silence on the Microsoft part. I
normally would not bother, since I got rid of the issue by uninstalling the
patch, but had to put it back as part of security pack pushed by our IT. I
guess, it is about time to start switching to Netscape, although I hate to
say that I never liked it (I mean Netscape). Thanks,

Alek

anonymous,

No need to be paternalistic: I know how to use the search feature. The
reason I posted the message was because I could not use the most viable
workaround (uninstalling the patch), since I did not get it from Microsoft.
So what I am wondering is whether someone at Microsoft or close to Microsoft
has any idea when this will be fixed (or at least whether there is a plan to
fix it). Since Microsoft has not acknowledged this issue, maybe they are not
even aware of it (although I find it hard to believe). If there are no plans
to provide a fix soon (or at least within a known timeframe), I will start
bugging our IT/security for forcing employees to install buggy (and
apparently unverified) patches; otherwise, I will just wait.

Hello Alek..........
I heard from reliable Microsoft source (my dad) that the
scroll problem will be fixed in the next update. Second
Tuesday of February (mark your calendar).

Thank you!!

You might pass along to him a suggestion that someone
oficially acknowledge the bug and announce the fix. Hmmm,
on second thought he'd probably get reprimanded for
actually caring about the customers!

This has been completely frustrating - it's like they want
to pretend it doesn't exist (even to the point of deleting
posts critical of the situation here).

Not meant to be critical of you or your Dad. Again thank
you for the news.

Thanks a lot! I was hoping for this answer. :-)
