I sometimes get virii that have a return-path on MSDN.COM but I am not
currently subscribing to any MSDN package. (MSDN.COM = Microsoft
Developers' Network) Is it safe to set up my ISP preferences to block
this domain?

As a MSDN member, I *do* get a "table of contents" of
the next DVD shipment, but I've never paid attention to what address
it originated from.

Use your email program to look a the e-mail's header. And look closely at all that's shown. If you know a moderate amount about email server addresses, you should be able to determine fakes from the real ones.

In MS Office Outlook, select & view message. Then select View, then Options. Internet message headers will show at bottom.
In Outlook Express, bring up (view) message. Then File --- next Properties --- then click on Details Tab.

In Netscape Messenger, bring up email. Then select View >> Headers >>All .

If you have never subscribed to MSDN, odds are the email is bogus. One does not expect to be getting viruses from MSDN or Microsoft.
