Any issues using Word 2003 to publish to net using save as html ??

I see we can use Word & Save As HTML and can also save as HTML filtered

1 - Are their any issues using Word to build a simple website?

Otherwise we have to buy more software and don't want to do that.

2 - Or... are their any good drag & drop free or almost free web builders
out there?

3 - Filtered seems to produce simplest code... can all browsers read web
pages made with Word?

thanks for any help.

Hi Will

it is not known to produce "nice" code (though the code seems to have
gotten a bit better over the years/versions). It also doesn't really
support you with many things that you might want to use in a modern web
site.

For a simple, read: static web site, you can of course use it. And, if
you do care a lot for code quality, you can always run HTMLTidy over it.

Otherwise we have to buy more software and don't want to do that.

Welcome to the club! :)

I dunno. Word is surely far from a good d&d free web builder!

Personally, I use a code-oriented HTML editor for my few (pretty static)
pages, but this means you have to delve into HTML a bit.

pages made with Word?

I'm not aware of any issues. Stay clear of Frames and all too fancy
stuff, and I'm sure your pages can be read.
