Any info on stability of Framework 1.1 SP1?

I was wondering if anyone had information regarding the stability of
Framework 1.1 SP1? We have had some strange issues since applying it. Once
we removed SP1, the problems seemed to go away.

Some of these problems included the following:

1. Unexplained exceptions thrown by the clr.
2. Performance issues.
3. Windows forms display problems.

If anyone has any comments on their experiences with SP1, I would be
interested in finding out if it is just us or if there are real issues with
it.

Hi Ken,

I had Windows DataGrid display issues when I have installed sp1 for .net
framework 1.1. I have done some research on the web I many people have the
same symptoms as me and you. It seems the only solution for now is to
reinstall .net framework entirely. By the way Microsoft says that once sp1
has been installed it cannot be removed. This is so stupid. Also, once you
reinstall framework you will be prompted again to install sp1. The problem is
you cannot check off their option on auto update service running. The only
way to block is to set SAS server settings.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have also seen some unusual problems with it. I had
a Windows Forms application that suddenly is experiencing screen painting
problems after installing SP1. I have a group box with a couple of radio
buttons in it. One radio button now refuses to paint. It was working fine
before the service pack was installed.

I am not getting a real warm and fuzzy feeling about SP1. I hope MS pays
attention and gets it fixed and stabilized ASAP.
