Any advantages for AMD driver over Microsoft driver?

I'm using Windows XP and AMD Sempron 2800. It doesn't support Cool And
Quite as you know but the installation program on the mainboard CD
installed 'Cool And Quite Support' program automatically. I found that
'Athlon 64 driver' was listed on the Add/Remove program list. I clicked
on the cpu from the device manager and the manufacturer of the driver
was AMD.

I uninstalled that 'Athlon 64 driver' because my cpu doesn't support
C'n'Q and it's not even Athlon 64' Then the manufacturer of the cpu
driver was changed to Micrsoft.

So the point is, there are MS version of CPU driver and AMD version of
that. Is there any significant difference? Should I install AMD version
driver?

For a hardware issue, always install the manufacturers version of the
drivers. They are likely to support more that the "bare essentials" that the
Microsoft supplied drivers support.
