avast home is free and works well with vista, it's small, registration is
free, they will e-mail you a key and not spam you.

I tried both AVG (I was using AVG on XP and I like it) and Avast on Vista
and could not get either of them to work at all. They installed fine but AVG
wouldn't run it's real time scanner an Avast just will not run at all. I'm
running RC1 build 5600. They both claim to work fine on Vista at there web
sites. I finaly tried CA Associates and it works fine. I am thinking of
going with it insted of AVG from now on as it seems to run a full scan of my
hard drives much faster. A big plus right now is the for anyone trying it on
Vista CA Associates is giveing them a FREE one years worth of updates. Thats
pretty cool for an application thats commercial and not free ware like AVG
and Avast. Of course when the subscription runs out I'll go back to AVG
because by that time they will have a working version for Vista and AVG is
free.
