I have recently installed Vista Home Premium and have been trying to remove
my old AVG Free Virus protection program because of incompatability and
install a new compatible program. every time I attempt to uninstall it, it
doesn't completely remove it from my programs file. Can anyone advise me on
how I might permanently be able to remove it so I can install new program?
thanks!

Hi,

Truthfully, it would have been best to remove it before upgrading. Try
downloading the most recent version from Grisoft and installing it over the
older one (the newest one is Vista compatible). Then try uninstalling the
package.

To uninstall it, you first have to disable it(turn it off). If you
right-click on the icon, there will will be a way to turn it off.
You can not uninstall an anti-virus program that is still running!
