Antivir /Avast or AVG &.5?

Jaycee

From Av comparatives it appears that Antivir has scored real good.
I've currently got Avast 4.7 home and am having no problems with updating
etc.
Would experienced users kindly give their suggestions about these three
free av softwares.(usability/features/Auto updates etc)

Xp-Pro;
ZA-free;
Avast 4.7 Home;
Adaware Free;
Spybot S&D;
Spywareblaster:
A-squared-free.

TIA,
Jaycee

I moved from NOD32 To Antivir paid version (although I used their free
version for a couple of weeks).

antivir does get good reveiws. It's also VERY light on system
resources.

Three softwares .... I count seven ...... and only one "av software"
Xp-Pro;
Windows

Firewall

Avast 4.7 Home;
Antivirus

Adaware Free;
Spybot S&D;
Spywareblaster:
Antispyware

A-squared-free.

This is good as a "second opinion"
to the antivirus and antispyware programs.

I use almost all of the above programs,
but for antivirus I use NOD32 (payware)
http://www.eset.com/
and for a firewall I use Comodo

As an addition to the antispyware programs, may I suggest:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
there is a free version available.

How is Comodo in its use of resources? I used Sygate for
years, until it was bought by Symantec and I've yet to find
a good replacement. Comodo looks like a possibility.

some resource users on my PC at this moment are:
- firefox.exe 67,860 kb
- explorer.exe 27,012 kb
- mesnews2.exe 22,356 kb (my news reader)
- cpf.exe 14,372 kb (Comodo pers.firew.)
- nod32krn.exe 20,812 kb
- svchost.exe 20,188 kb

For some years I used ZoneAlarm (version 2.6.362 and so on).
But a few months ago I got a new PC with WindowsXP Home
pre-installed and ZA refused to be installed (any version).
(I am still puzzeld, why this has happened.)

I (re)used Kerio 2.1.5 for some weeks,
but I finally settled on Comodo.
