Anti-Spyware with /3GB switch

I have been happily running with the /3GB swith turned on until the latest
version of the Anti-Spyware installation. Now, with the /3GB switch enabled
Windows disables all of my USB ports and NIC as it boots. Note, my USB ports
and the inital boot sequence can see my wireless keyboard. They shutdown as
windows begins booting, in fact they are powered off. I un-installed
Anti-Spyware; however, what ever was changed that broke the /3GB switch was
not rolled back. I run Windows XP SP2+ critical updates, Intel 3.6GH w/ 4 G
memory.
Thanks,
Allen Herman

Allen - I'm unaware of any changes in the code other than the expiration
date related functions, in the latest build. I believe that your experience
of finding that the behavior does not change with the uninstall of Microsoft
Antispyware also leads me to believe that Microsoft Antispyware is not at
the root of the issues you are seeing.

I take it that you are running code that is compiled to use this switch?

I don't see that issue as negating what I said. They revised the code to
change the expiration date. Naturally that involves new version numbers on
the various modules, and the new modules are not identical bit for bit with
the older ones.

I can not run down what changed; however, after rolling back to my last
system restore point prior to installing the latest version of the Anti-Spy
ware software I am able to run with the /3GB switch again.

Interesting. Uninstalling Microsoft Antispyware should have removed all
executables involved.

If you were a glutton for punishment you could put it back on and see if the
experience repeats itself. Either way, the hard facts are probably that no
changes are likely to be made to the beta1 product at this point, so your
choice is taking the hit and having the protection, or waiting for beta2.
