Anti-Spyware - Updater = No Internet Connection?

When I try to do a manually initiated update a red Could not connect to the
Internet message appears. The Internet connection is ok since IExplorer,
Express, and others work fine. ???

This can be caused by any interruption to connectivity with the definition
servers--i.e. issues ranging from third-party firewalls on your machine to
outages at the server end, I think.
