Does Excel 2000 have an antilogarithm function for base 10. For example, the
log to the base 10 of 5 is .69897.... What is the name of teh function that
is used to convert .69896.. back into 5?

You don't actually need a special formula for that!
For example, you got the 0.698970004 in cell A1,
in A2, you type:
=10^A1
And you'll get 5.

That is, the formula:
=10^LOG10(5)
will return 5.

That was posted Easter Sunday.
That's a very slow resurrection;-)
