Another XL2003 major dehancement

Well, it's taken me a few days working with it, but I figured out a major
new dehancement in XL2003. When I copy and paste a formula from one cell or
a group of cells to another, or put in a Sum anywhere, I'll get the formula
showing instead of the result. I now have to remember to reformat the cells
where the formulas or sums are going to "Number" BEFORE I PASTE OR ENTER
THE SUM to get the results to show up! Another genius idea from M$! At
least now that I've figured this out, it won't slow me down by hours, as it
has done the last few days. It will only add 2 new completely unecessary
steps every time I insert a sum or copy a formula anywhere in XL. Thanks
again, M$ developers.

Has anyone figured out a workaround for this yet? I'm considering putting
an auto-macro in my personal spreadsheet that automatically formats every
cell in every new worksheet I activate to Number format. Would that fix
this? Any other ideas?

Fortunately this enhancement is not for general use among Excel 2003 users.

I can replicate this only if all cells are pre-formatted to Text which would
have to be done by a user...............not Excel

Does this occur on new worksheets or just on existing worksheets?

Do you have a BOOK.XLT or SHEET.XLT in your XLSTART folder?
