My problem how do I incoporate another style within a styled paragraph.
Example, how can I make (a) a style and have (b) and (c) follow, as shown
below, when 1.1 is a style?

1.1 The big brown bear loves to run. (a) blah, blah blah
(b) Yada, yada yada
(c) Yada, yada, yada
1.2 More text

Thanks for all input!

Well, basically what you want is outline numbering. See here to set
that up:

To get two styles (1.1 and (a)) on the same line, see here:

(scroll down to hidden paragraph mark and style separator sections)

My opinion: I would say that your model looks a little funny--I don't
think people are accustomed to seeing the beginning of a list (a) run
into text like that, and I suspect it will make your writing a little
harder to understand, and even harder to skim--paragraph breaks are
meant to reflect the logical division of information. There is clearly a
logical division between 1.1 and (a), why not signify it with a
paragraph break and help people out? So you'll have gone to some extra
trouble for no real benefit.

No disrespect intended, but unless you have some unyielding, demanding
Authority forcing this on you why not avoid the hassle & complexity of such
an unconventional - and hard to decipher from a reader's standpoint - style
whose structure may very well lead to document corruption?

Daiya thank you very much. The site helped me do exactly what I needed done
in outline numbering. It's nice to know there are real Word users out there.

No disrespect, but it's easier to say you don't know how to solve this
problem. See Daiya's response it will help you.
