Bought a radeon 64mb ddr vivo some years ago; at least I thought I
did. Built a new system, moved the card and installed the latest
drivers/mmc and found that most of the mmc doesn't work. No error,
nothing... utilities such as file player won't run. All I want to do
is verify what kind of card this is since there's quite a few
different flavors. Read all the web pages and tried entering my p/n
number ("no record found"). The system info describes a different
card than what I bought. It seems to me that if anyone can recognize
the card it should be ati so I try sending them an e-mail. Yeah,
right. If you try describing your problem, they just redirect you to
a bunch of pages (READ THOSE THANK YOU AND THEY WERE NO HELP). Found
you have to enter some garbage string as a subject just to fool their
server so you can actually send them an e-mail. Then, after all this
hassle, they send me this stupid form reply. HEY ATI! ALL I WANT TO
KNOW IS WHAT IS THE VERSION OF THE CARD I BOUGHT????? THATS ALL. I
SENT YOU THE P/N NUMBER. SO JUST TELL ME WHAT THE STUPID CARD IS...

I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER SINCE THESE ARE THE ONLY DISPLAY
DRIVERS I'VE USED IN THE PAST THAT CAN TRASH YOUR SYSTEM AND FORCE YOU
INTO REINSTALLING THE OS.

ALL that info and........... the serial number is a secret?

Could have been quite a rant in as far as KB's, but it was a little
disappointing, as it was copy paste utterly useless info for us.

Expecting latest drivers / software to work for a card bought 'some
years ago' is wishful thinking in many cases. ATI is pretty good about
that. My 7500 AIW works great with the version 4.1 Cats and MMC 8.1.

I 'think' that yours may not be a 'Radeon but maybe a 'rage'? Also if
this is just a Mad fisherman, trolling the waters, find some original
rhetoric.

Speaking of useless information, ever heard of snipping?
As to p/n try all of the numbers on the card.
I had something similar happen when I went to query the HIS support site,
and the numbet listed as the P/N on the card didn't work, but one of the
others did.
The only reply I got to my query was a virus btw ;-)
