Scraper

http://lrs.ed.uiuc.edu/students/tsullivl/HelpGeek/software/scraper.zip

Description:
Scraper is a simple utility which can 'scrape' text from other
application windows. This lets you copy and save crucial message box
text such as program or system error information. An "append" feature
lets you add to the existing scraped text. In some cases, Scraper cannot
copy message box information as text because of the manner in which it
is displayed. To get around this problem, Scraper has an option to copy
windows as images.

PLATFORMS:
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0

Size: 122kb

Enjoy!

Handy little tool. . . I remember some years ago seeing a non-free
application of this sort but have since forgotten what it was. Thanks for
the link!

This is for the flowers, http://protempore.org/jarday

And the sheer ugliness of it all
will surely be lost on them.

As far as just copying the text from a Windows message dialog, I
recently found out by accident that Ctrl+C now copies that text, at
least in XP and I think W2K.

Ctrl/A = mark all text in document
(or shift arrow to mark a portion)

Ctrl/C = copy marked text

Ctrl/V = paste copied text into current app

He means that in an active Windows message dialog you can press Ctrl+C to
copy all the message dialog content (even the window title and the buttons
caption), without selecting anything.
