I have just finished setting up a network beteen 3 PCs,
A, B & C. A & B with win xp and C with win 2000. all
three icons appear in their respective 'My Network
Places'. A & C can access each other's folders. B however
can access the other two folders but it doesn't allow the
other two to access its folders (how selfish!). Attemping
to access B's folders prompt the following error
message: '\\B is not accessable. You might not have
permission to ..... etc. The network path was not found'.
The firewalls on all three are configured correctly and
all have the same name workgroup and all have different
computer names.
Please help.

Thanks Jetro for your prompt reply. Spot on, you are
right. Its the firewall. I Have Panda AV & firewall. Its
configured corrctly for network traffic. But it still is
evidently blocking. Any ideas?

What kind of Internet connection do you have? If broadband, I'd just install
a cheap and cheerful broadband router with an included SPI firewall -

Hi Lanwench,
I do have an Eicon Diva ADSL Router, configuring its
firewall is worse than configuring this network. Any
other router with an effective firewall in mind that is
cheap and cheeful?

Check out NetGear's FR114P - about $80 from CDW. I use trhese all over the
place.
