I read that you can not go from 32 xp to 64 vista, does that mean that you
can not do an upgrade from within xp but you can only do a clean install. Or
does that mean that you will loose everthing on your computer if you go from
32 to 64 on a clean install.

I have a Intel PD 940 3.20 with a Intel D975x motherboard

Just wanted to take advanatge of any speed increase with going to the 64.

Thanks

If you do a clean install on the same drive which XP x86 is installed, then
you of course will remove any data since the install will not proceed
without doing so at first. If you want to install Vista x64, install on a
logical partition or spare computer that is x86-x64 enabled.
