My first question is, "Is there a newsgroup for 2003 machines?

Now, for my question

I've "Shared" a folder called "Myfolder" on a Windows 2003 Standard Edition machine to "everyone" with "Full Control

Now, from a Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine

C:\>dir \\<windows2003_IPaddress>\Myfolde
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

If I do the same proceedure on a Windows 2000 or XP machine, the dir works

How do I get this behavior on Windows 2003

Here's an article that discusses NULL user settings, etc

I forgot to mention, I don't want to enable the Guest Account
If I enable the Guest account, it works.

The W2k3 series of newsgroups begin with
microsoft.public.windows.server.*
except for technologies that have broader scope, like
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy
We have moved to version neutral newsgroups beginning
with the new ones defined to eventually replace the W2k
era newsgroups.

There is a policy setting to allow Everyone permissions
to apply to anonymous which you will find in the security
options area of the computer policies.
