First of all..I missed the 2005 disk, so I have been visiting the site,
often. (Got married, changed my entire world, small stuff.)

Secondly, this group has consistently been one of the BEST groups I've
ever been on... the people are civil, intelligent, and best of all,
NICE. its' a great change from the grumpynets I've been on, and get
bored by.

Just wanted to thank all the posters here, as I do every year, but this
time, even more so. Dealing with a disability that takes my hands away,
as well as a paycheck, makes i thard to do things I once loved, and you
folks have given me links to voice software, typing software, software
that reads to me, it's just been fabulous..especially on a disability
check!!

thanks gang.

I concur with Cathe. Great group we have here. So few do so much for the
rest of us.

I also would like to thank to everybody of this group. Finally a newsgroup
where there is only nice people. (even thought the 'alt.' hierarchy of
Usenet is described as "the remainder bin at a book store" [1] )

I read other Brazilian newsgroups and there's just too much noise from
trolls and people that just want to claim that his/her hardware/software is
better and throw flames if they don't agree with something somebody wrote.

[1] refer to the book "The UNIX-Haters Handbook":
http://www.simson.net/ref/ugh.pdf , free download, makes good reading.

I concur with Cathe. Great group we have here. So few do so much for the

True, we rest on the shoulders of giants, but I try to do my part by
sharing whatever feeble knowledge I have. I encourage all *lurkers* to do
the same.

Hello Cathe,

Belated felicitations to the bride. :)

You didn't miss the PL2005 CD - it can still be downloaded or requested from a burner or in the
newsgroup - see:

Second all that. :)

I finally got around to downloading the CD image (with no problems
whatsoever, I might add) and just checked out the CD. Wow. You guys
did a great job! I had no problems downloading the iso (good speeds,
fast reply to get the download link), it matched the md5, but that was
just the start. I got around to checking out the CD tonight and its
exceptional- Well organized with a familiar html interface. I love it.
Thanks.

YW. Your feedback is music to my ears. :) :) :) Would all the volunteers please take a bow.

FWIW I'd say we're averaging about one download request a day (and have been ever since the initial
rush abated). Dunno how many requests the burners are getting - would any of you care to comment?

As I said to Harsha after the offer of sending the disc came to me....
I'm adding to the local libraries by giving them copies of the disc, as
I have the last two years. They greatly appreciate it.
