Annoyingly Loud BEEP

I have a hp pavilion with windows vista, downloaded mathematica, and just
keep getting an annoying beep when i click on something. When i click on
random things it will beep really loud, sounds like its from the speakers
because when i mute them it wont play, but otherwise it will. I have all the
sounds associated with it turned off, and it doesn't sound like any windows
sound. Any ideas on what it could be and how to turn it off? I tried
editing the registry like
http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=333197 says to, but each
property was already set to " ".

That's not Vista beeping (at least I don't think), it's Mathematica telling
you that you've done something it doesn't like. It doesn't like a lot of
stuff, so it's not really anything to worry about.

In Mathematica go to Preferences --> Dialog Settings --> Message Options

In that category should be a bunch of preferences on whether or not you hear
beeps. Just turn them all off and look through the rest of the preferences if
the beeping continues
