Annoying Pop MessageBox after Logon

When I log on to our domain someone has set a popup box which I have
to click OK on to continue the logon. Even in a roaming profile this
is there, so I assume it is some registry setting or some replaced
logon screen or something else which I can fix? (I am administrator on
computer)

Anyone knows where I can find this and get rid of it?

Best regards

You will need something like ad-aware. Download it for free and run it to
get rid of all spyware that has been loaded to your computer.

If it is a domain wide setting you will not be able to get rid of it, for
example a logon message informing you of the domain's policy for access.

You can disable the setting via the registry at, this can be looked up at
www.regedit.com - search for 'legal notice box"

If you disable this setting it will be re-enabled once you log into the
domain again!

Hi Niklas,

Check your settings here for Pro:

Go to Start/Run/gpedit.msc Local Computer Policy/Computer
Configuration/Windows Settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security
Options. Scroll down to Interactive logon: Message text for users
attempting to log on and Interactive logon: Message title for users
attempting to log on.

This feature can be used in conjunction with the Legal Notice Dialog Box
Before Logon tweak.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: LogonPrompt
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)

Add Message above User Name and Password (Line 110)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Add Notice Dialog Box (Caption and Text) to Logon Screen (Line 110)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the VBS Files: Download .vbs file and save it to your hard drive (you
may want to right click and use Save Target As). Double
click the vbs file. You will be prompted when the script is done.

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this is
normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These
scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.

I don't think the administrator wants to take away what he has put there...

I have seen it and I don't want to see it again.

Thanks Kelly, I will try that (not at that computer right now). I search for
legal notice text, but that reg-settings was empty so I thought it might
have something to do with policies... It only happens on the new image with
XP, not my old Win2000 login to the same domain. The old computers are in a
different sub-part of the domain so perhaps it could be on the domain level?

Nice web-pages you got there!
