Annoying 'feature' automatic warning notes

I am using Excel XP and there is (among others) one very annoying
'feature'. It seems Bill thinks I need to be protected from myself and
had his programmers add a new thing that automatically puts cell notes
all through worksheets when it thinks you are a dumb ass and don'y know
how to write a formula. I have a grid of data for example 12 columns by
10 rows. At the end of each row I have a 13th column that sums the last
few columns for that row. the caveat is that each formula sums a
different number fo columns. Well Bill in all his wisdom has added a
warning note to every of the formula cells thats says "The formula in
this cell refers to a range that has additionla numbers next to it? and
prompts me to correct or ignore the error. Well guess what? IT AIN'T
AN ERROR! I know for the typical DFU AOL user that this is the greatest
thing since sliced bread. However those of us who have a real ISP and
use the teal internet (a.k.a. people who are not afraid of computers and
know how to use them) it is annoying and a pin in the butt. How do I
turn that stupid ass 'feature' off globally?

Tools|Options|Error checking tab

might be a way to have it only check the things you want checked.

OK I noticed one additional thing. the recently used file list is not
displayed on the File menu. The option to enable it is disabled in the
options. Whats up with that?

OFFXP: "Most Recently Used" List Missing from File Menu and "Recently Used
File List" Option Unavailable (Q284896)

1) Designed feature my ass! What in the hell does having My Documents
on your start menu have to do with recently open files in an app? Not a
dman thing. I hate all that crap on my start menu. (Another DFU AOL
user option.) So now they say I have to have this on in order for my
software to work! AN OS and its setting should have NOTHING to do with
the setting for an application.

2) It didnt work anyway. I do have TweakUI running but there is not
applet in CP. When I run TUI from the start menu there is no option for
documents. The ONLY options are:

a) Custom Backgrounds.
b) Search.
c) View Source.

So not only is this a crock that there is a relationship between the two
but also their fix describes options that just plain do not exist.
