Annoying Click

I have just downloaded an unpdated security prgramme for XP - Windows XP Service Pack 1 - and after rebooting it, I now now get annoying little loud clicks every time I click my mouse on an icon or if sometimes my PC performs a function. Is there a way I can customize my PC to the same as before hand, where there was no noise at all? Thank you

Go to sound schemes and choose/delete sound scheme for "start navigation"
Hope this solves the problem.
