animation question

I am working on a previous powerpoint presentation (I didn't create it) and I
wanted to add custom animation. There were slides with a screen shot of
stats that I wanted to cut and paste and add the animation: entrance/blinds.
I was successful on most of them and when I put the animation in it would say
"object" and show the animation symbol. The problem I'm having on some of
the slides is that when I copy and paste and add the same animation it comes
up as "picture frame" and the animation doesn't work when I run the slide
show. Any help would be appreciated.

Chances are that the screen grab was inserted with 'cut & paste'. This
could mean that they re an OLE object (which PowerPoint really does little
to try to understand. Try saving the screen grab images as pictures on the
Hard Drive, then re-insert them into the presentation as images and see if
this does not resolve the animation difficulties.

You may also want to pass back the message that 'Cut & Paste' + PowerPoint =
bad.

Let us know if this problem persists afterwards.
