Animated gif problem?

Anyone know of a problem with IE and animated gifs?

A friend has IE6 with latest updates and cannot see any animated gifs.
"Play Animations" is checked, cache/temp files have been cleared.
No Zone Alarm or Spyware programs loaded.

I even built a test page with a jpg, a standard .gif and an animated gif all
next to each other. He can see everything but the animated gif - there's
just nothing there.

Any ideas???

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

This would be any website that contains an animated gif however opening an
animated gif from the local machine displays fine in IE.

Which version of Windows are they running? If Windows 2000 / ME / 98 have them re-install IE.

Have you looked at your IE settings. Tools>Internet Options>Privacy or look
at Tools>Internet Options>Advance to see if something is set incorrectly.

Running XP.

Running XP - Ive verified settings are identical to my machine.

Re-install of IE is next step I guess.

Under XP, you can not re-install IE.

Shot down IE. Right click the IE icon on the desktop. Select Properties, click the Programs tab.
Click "Reset web settings" and uncheck the "Reset the home page" box.
Click Ok and OK.
Reopen IE
