Hi
the only ideas I have:
- you may have checked the Analysis Toolpak Add-in for VBA (its a
different Add-in)
- are you suing an english Analysis Toolpak Add-in

Hi Frank

no, definitely the Analysis Toolpak and yep its english

funny thing is is that i've got both ver 2002 & 2003 on this machine - 2002
is ticked and works ... 2003 is ticked and doesn't work :( do you know of a
registry setting that i can delete & try again for 2003? i really really
don't want to have to uninstal & reinstal ...

hi just in case anyone is following this thread - the following suggestion
from Ravi Tangudu solved the problem:

On the Add-in box in excel, try clicking the browse button, and make your
way to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office2003\OFFICE11\Library\Analysis
folder.. once there, select the analys32.xll file... It may tell you that
its already there but just say yes..

now just close and reopen excel and try

Thanks Ravi

Meaning you have ATP for 2002 checked in XL2002 and ATP for 2003 checked in
XL2003? Or do you mean you have ATP for both 2002 and 2003 checked in XL2003? If
this last, then you have two add-ins containing functions with exactly the same
names, and that could cause problems.

Hi Harlan

in tools / add-ins it doesn't (at least i can't see it) show the version of
the ATP file
however i have my 2002 version installed under C:\Program Files\Microsoft
OfficeXP\
and my 2003 version installed under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office2003

it appears that when i originally ticked the ATP (for 2003) it got confused
and didn't work (while ATP has always worked for 2002) ... but when i folled
Ravi's suggestion and "make your
way to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office2003\OFFICE11\Library\Analysis
folder.. once there, select the analys32.xll file" using the browse button -
it works fine.
