An unknown error has occurred

can someone plz help me out here. i get a unknown error message when trying
to delete the deleted mail folder. to dump them all out.

To fix the inability to move or delete some messages, see this Microsoft fix:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/941090

Although it only mentions 'outbox', it works for all mail folders.
