an unallocated partition that can not be seen in the system.

Hi, all. I used Acronis Director Suite to resize one of the partitions. But
there was something error occurred, which results in an unallocated
partition created. And the partition is hidden in the operation system, but
it can be seen in the Disk operating software. Neither I can delete it, nor
merge it to other partition. What should I do now?

What "Disk operating software" are you thinking of? The
Windows "Disk Manager"? Is the partition visible there?
Can you delete it?

If neither Acronis Disk Director nor the Windows Disk Manager
will touch this mystery partition then you could boot the machine
with a Win98 boot diskette (www.bootdisk.com) and delete
the problem partition with delpart.exe
(http://www.russelltexas.com/delpart.htm).
This is a risky operation and I recommend that you first back
up all your partitions to another disk, using Acronis Disk Director,
then test this otherdisk to ensure that it works.

Thanks. I just creat another partition in the form of NTFS for it. It is now
visible.
Then what should I do to merge it with another partition?
Thanks.

Use Acronis Disk Director to delete it, then expand the
other partition into the empty space. This is explained in
full detail in the Acronis help pages!

Well, I know, but when I merge it to another partition, it becomes
"unallocated"....then I create the partition for the "unallocated", ....
I don't know what to do to really merge it to the partition...I created a
"new folder" for the merging location..
Please help me further...

The processes you describe are fully explained in the Acronis
Disk Director help files. I recommend this course of action:
- Carefully read the help files.
- Practise the various partition management tasks on a spare disk.
- If you have any questions left, check the Acronis FAQs. You
are currently posting in a Windows newsgroup but your problem
has nothing to do with Windows.
