An Outlook 2003 folder disappeared

A folder (with subfolders) disappeared from my Outlook 2003 email. The other
folders are intact. The missing folder is not in Deleted Items. I have no
idea what happened. Can anyone suggest how this folder evaporated?

How can I restore it from a recent backup?

Perhaps you inadvertantly dragged it elsewhere?
If you know a specific msg in it search for the msg and see what the results
show for location

First, look for the obvious. Perhaps it's been accidentally dragged to
another location. If you're not already viewing your folder list, add it to
your view. Check for + signs beside other folders that would indicate there
is a subfolder present. The same applies to your Deleted Items folder. If
there is a + sign beside it, that means a folder was deleted. Click on the +
sign to expand it and you'll see what's there.
You may also want to check Outlook Today in case it's been accidentally
moved there. Check the properties and remove the Home Page check box to
reveal any emails/folders accidentally stored there.
