When I open my Outlook 07, which is now slow, a message appears stating that
"A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being
checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in
progress." Then my outlook closes right away. This just started out of no
where. What do I do? Please help.

I'd suspect either your .ost if you work offline or your PST. You can delete
your .ost and it will recreate the next time you open Outlook. When it comes
to your PST, scan it for errors using ScanPST.exe. You may have to scan it
several times.
This may or may not resolve your issue. Keep me posted.

Hi Carla, this happens to me all the time, even with Outlook 2003 and
Outlook 2007...for me, it usually happens when I close Outlook 2007,
then restart my computer using Start -> Windows -> Turn Off
immediately afterward. It's kind of frustrating becuase it has ALWAYS
happened to me in both versions of Outlook. I'd really like to see a
fix for this, it looks like Outlook is still running in the background
after closing it and if I select to restart my computer, whatever
Outlook is still doing in the background is running yet Windows shuts
down and this happens.
