AmiPro files

I have text files made on an old version of AmiPro.
This version will not run on Windows XP. When I try
to load the files into Word, they come up with what
appears to be a lot of formatting symbols before, after,
and in between the text.
Is there a way to put these files into Word so they view
somewhat normally?

You did not say how old the version is. The following MS
link says you can use the 'Microsoft Converter Pack' for
Lotus AmiPro 3.x

You would have to find a third party converter - AmiPro and its
successor as Lotus WordPro are very much competitors to Word, and
Microsoft does not provide for easy conversion, apart from Lotus 1-2-3
spreadsheets.

I'd suggest trying to find a copy of Lotus WordPro, either on some other
machine, where you could read your files and then save into a Word
format ('Word for Windows95 7.0' say), or as a copy to install yourself
- Lotus WordPro 97 or later run happily on XP
..

QuickView Pro by Jasc will read your old file and you can then save it
in another format.
