Alternating row colors in A2007 datasheets

Hi

I think the A2007 datasheets are cool. I really like the alternating row
colors. But I'm disappointed to find that when I view forms I designed in
datasheet view, they don't have the alternating colors. Is there a way to
make this happen?

With the form open in datasheet view, click the "Home" tab on the ribbon.
There is a tiny arrow at the bottom right of the Font pane, which launches
the datasheet formatting options. To save the formatting you need to save
the form while it is still in the datasheet view (although given your recent
experiences you will probably not be able to *stop* it saving!)

Hi again Baz:

Thanks for your information. It's interesting... what you say works
perfectly with any form I create in A2007, but it does not seem to work with
any of the legacy forms from the A2002 app. The little arrow on the
"Format" panel of the home tab is always disabled for them. Just for fun I
tried copying and pasting all the fields from a legacy form onto a new blank
A2007 form, and then it worked great... but unfortunately to re-create
every form with all the code and properties would be a herculean task.

I also tried manually changing the "Alternate Backcolor" property for the
form, but it had no effect.

Regards

FYI -- I kept on trying and trying everything, till eventually I found out
something significant --

If the form is a popup, then when viewed as a datasheet, the alternating
colors don't work.
If not a popup, they work OK!

I'm speaking about A2002 forms here... haven't had time to test A2007.

Cheers.

If anyone is still tracking this thread I can now report that in A2007
alternating datasheet backcolors can be successfully applied as follows.

Non-Popup forms authored in A2007 -- YES
Popup forms authored in A2007 -- YES
Popup forms authored in A2002 -- NO, but YES if you change them to
Non-Popup. Note: you can then change them back to popup and the alternating
backcolors still work.
Non-Popup forms authored in A2002 -- YES.

Hope this is helpful to someone.
