Altering long numbers

M

Martin

Hi, I copy blocks of 16 digit numbers from Access 2000 to
Excel 2000 but when I paste the last digit gets converted
to a zero, so 1234567891234567 becomes 1234567891234560.
I've tried formating the cells in different ways but can't
get this to work.

Any ideas?

thanks
Martin

Hi Martin

I believe that Excel will only handle number of 15
digits. The only thing I can think of is store them as
text in Excel.

That is the only way to handle numbers with more than 15 significant digits in Excel. Format the
cells as text prior to entry, or precede the data with a single quote.
