Mark,
Why do you keep posting these messages without links? And this one
to which I'm responding contains porno links below your signature
line. What's going on?

I have encountered further problems with the upgrade. I switched to
doing a batch controller in lisp. Everything seemed to be posting OK to
alt.test, but when I switched back to uploading to alt.comp.freeware,
the whole shebang decided that it didn't want to play nice.

When it shows no links, that probably means that either something has
gone horribly wrong, or that I've deleted the record file for the last
post read. I delete the file if there were something appears to have
gotten screwed up. This causes the script to look at only the last 10
posts.

In the case of the alt.comp.freeware, I think that the script just
screwed up, causing nothing to be posted.

In the case of alt.comp.freeware.games, I think that the script actually
worked, but that the last 10 posts just happened to be porno links.

I try to test the scripts as much as practically possible. Test results
were posted to alt.tests - and everything appeared to work fine. But
then something got screwed up when I switched the postings back to
alt.comp.freeware.

I have just performed a test transmission. As you can see, it's all
blank. I suspect that the cause it due to the introduction of a batch
controller that I wrote in lisp. I think that it is not executing
programs synchronously - despite having :wait t.

In view of these difficulties, I'll switch off the automated running of
the scripts over the weekend.

Guess it would be kind of hard to filter out the links when they're
not freeware.

Thanks for the explanation. I hope you get it working right soon. This
will be a neat feature for the group.

I intend to ditch the lisp controller and switch to python. It's a bit
of a pity from my point of view, because I was trying to learn lisp.
Anticipate further problems as I perform the translation.
