When I type alt-164 on a computer here,
I get '?' instead of the 'ñ' which I should
be getting. How can I change the mapping
so that I get the correct 'ñ'

Thanks in Advance

Hi Laurence,

Have you got the right keyboard language installed? Control Panel/Regional
and Language options/Languages tab, click details and look on the settings
tab.

Not all fonts include a complete character set. Open Character Map (in
System Tools folder on the Start Menu). Select the font that you are
currently using from the drop down box. You will see the character
displayed here if it is included. If it is not shown, select a
different font for your document that does include it.

Also, have you used Alt+ codes before? If no, check the NumLock is
engaged to activate the keys on the number pad. Press and hold the Alt
key. Use the number pad to type the numbers portion of the code.
Release the Alt key after pressing the last number.

Alternatively, you can copy and paste the character from Character
Map.
