When I click the TO button to bring up my contact address on a e-mail
they come up first names and I need them to come up alphabetized by
last name. Any ideas as to how I can do this. Have tried everything I
can think of and it doesn't work.

Without knowing your Outlook version, it's impossible to say in general, but
for Outlook 2002/2003, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing
directories or address books>Next. Seect "Outlook Address Book" and click
Change. Set the sort order there. Afterward, stop and restart Outlook to
make the change effective.
