ALL Word menu buttons have disappeared; How get back?

I have Word (from Office 2000). Both menu and toolbar buttons have
disappeared (ALL of them). I reinstalled Office 2000; buttons still missing.
How can I get them back? Thanks.

have a minor registry corruption. See
