all reports are broken

I can't open any reports using VB or by double clicking on them. They won't
open in design view or for print previewing. All other form functions seem
to operate OK. When I open the same access file on different computers, the
reports will open but not on my laptop--they used to work but not any more.
If I try using the DoCmd.OpenReport line in VB then it just tells me
"OpenReport action was cancelled." I can't figure out what's going
on....please help!?

Good answer! I was racking my brain trying to think of a possible cause
for this.

Now it only remains to be seen whether you're right.

haaalleeluyaaaah!! i did have a default printer but access doesn't like it
at all. i changed it to some other printer and it worked. but why? that's so
weird. my (previous) printer was a network printer, but so is the one that i
replaced it with as default. in any case i'm happy as hell. thanks so much
